Meet the Fall 2025 MSR Team

Management Team

Marianna Richardson and Joshua Clawson

Dr. Richardson has been the faculty advisor for Marriott Student Review for years, providing invaluable mentorship and unwavering support. Her passion for students and dedication to our success make MSR a space where we can thrive. We are incredibly grateful for her leadership, guidance, and the genuine care she shows for each of us.

“Working with Dr. Richardson has been one of my greatest BYU experiences. Professionalism has been at the center of Marriott Student Review (MSR), and that all stems from the incredible direction provided by Dr. Richardson. MSR provides students with a platform to succeed, and without Dr. Richardson’s guidance, we would not have the same class experience. The class runs with a clear structure that encourages collaboration, critical thinking, and effective communication. Dr. Richardson’s ability to challenge us while also providing unwavering support has helped me grow both academically and personally. Whether through feedback on my assignments or insightful discussions in class, Dr. Richardson has consistently pushed me and the rest of the class to strive for excellence. Her leadership goes beyond just being an instructor –she fosters an environment where every student feels empowered to contribute and succeed.” – Josh Clawson

Marketing

Anja Hansen (Team Lead), Lucy Wilson, Emily Broadbent, McClayn Wanker, Sadi Kelley, Isabelle Hansen, Collin Carroll, and Cooper McHoul Gatens

The Marketing team’s responsibility is to advertise what is the hidden gem of the Marriott School, Marriott Student Review. As a team, we focus on reaching new audiences through social media, and booths to inform students about the purpose of Marriott Student Review. — Anja Hansen

Website
Kate Fowler and Sarah Bird

The Website Team makes the Marriott Student Review (MSR) accessible worldwide by creating a professional, creative, and easy-to-read website. We make it possible for the values of the Marriott School of Business to reach readers in places like Australia, South America, Europe, and Canada. On the website, readers have access to all the issues as well as links to the English and Spanish podcasts. It creates a way for MSR to broaden its audience and make a difference in the world.
This year, MSR has updated its website design by publishing a new website. We are using a new program called Brightspot to format it, which is the standard for all sites at Brigham Young University. Because of this program, MSR will now match the professional design and format of other BYU websites while still staying unique.

The old website featured the issues and the Marriott Saturday Reads. The new website provides easy access to all the products of MSR. On the new homepage, the reader sees the recent issues, the Marriott Saturday Reads articles, and the recent episodes of the English and Spanish podcasts. This makes it easier for the audience to get the full experience of MSR instead of just reading the recent issues.

Being part of the Website Team gives students the opportunity to use creativity to continue to improve the MSR website. Students also have the chance to learn new skills as we work with a new program. No prior experience in website design is needed. Come join the MSR Website Team! — Sarah Bird

English Podcast

Stuart Bird (Team Lead), Jackson Berthold, Allison Pope, James Call, and Sarah Bird

The MSR podcast team seeks to spread the message of the Marriott Student Review through the new and modern medium of podcasting. The Measuring Success Right podcast interviews BYU students, faculty, alumni, and benefactors with the purpose of exploring healthy ways to measure success right. A focus on the Values of the Marriott School of Business is prevalent in our episodes. During the Winter 2025 semester, we have added video reels to our content in hopes of increasing our reach and listener pool.

Measuring Success Right is led, hosted, and produced by students. Our student team enjoys learning new skills in audio engineering, hosting, production equipment, editing, outreach, and everything that entails producing a high-quality podcast show. We welcome all students to join our team, regardless of their major or prior podcasting experience! - Stuart Bird

Spanish Podcast

Bryan Barba (Team Lead), Rodrigo Gutierrez, and Susanna Zapata

Las Caras del Éxito, is an official podcast of the Marriott Student Review (MSR), the student-produced magazine of the business school. As the first Spanish-language podcast at BYU, we highlight the stories of success from individuals with roots and ties to the Latino community, as well as those who wish to learn about the culture. Our interviewees are relatable people whose trajectories and experiences provide valuable insights for our multicultural audience that includes Hispanic and Latino listeners locally and globally. Our ultimate goal is to inspire and motivate our listeners to find success in their own fields of interest. — Bryan Barba
